Create a Connection

  1. Go to the My Computer icon and double-click on Dial-Up Networking.
  2. If you have never used Dial-Up Networking or RAS before, and have no entries in your phone book, you  will get a message to that effect, prompting you to create a new phonebook entry. If you do have phonebook entries, you can create a new entry by clicking the New... button.
  3. If the Phone Book Entry wizard starts, check the option "I know all about phone book entries and would rather edit the properties directly", and click the Finish button

  4. Give the new phonebook entry a name, such as Planttel.Net PPP, and enter the planttel.net local access number:

  5. Click the Server tab. Make sure the Dial-up server type is PPP: Windows NT, Windows 95 Plus, Internet, and that the TCP/IP option is checked.

  6. Click TCP/IP Settings.
  7. Select Specify name server addresses and enter the following addresses: Primary DNS 206.74.254.2 & Secondary DNS 204.116.57.2
