Checking for the correct connection properties in Windows 2000

1. Go to Start .. Settings .. click on Network and Dial-Up Connections.

2. In Network and Dial-Up Connections, single right-click on your dialer, and choose Properties.

3. In the Properties, click on the Networking tab.

4. In the Networking properties make sure you have the following checked: Internet Protocals (TCP/IP) and Client for Microsoft Networks.

5. High-light Internet Protocals (TCP/IP) and click properties.

6. In the Internet Protocals properties, mark Obtain an IP address automatically and Use the following DNS server addresses.

7. In Preferred DNS server type in 206.74.254.2 and in Alternate DNS server type in 204.116.57.2

8. Click OK
